Duwop.

Lush...aint so lush.

Honestly the thought of paying £11 for a shower gel just doesn't do it for me. The phase dont knock it until youve tried it seemed to stick in the back of my head and i buckled opting for 'flying fox' shower gel. Honestly i'm not even going to bother talking about this. It smells lovely and yes the fact its made by a lush employees bare hands is somewhat appealing but really? Not worth the money. I do love that overwelming scent each time its used though but for know il stick to my clarins body tonic and tackle the rest of the bathroom cabinate before i splash out that kind of cash on an 'okay' bath product again.

Daily makeup face routine. april/may

As much as i love having my makeup stash as large as it is and choice in looks, finishes and blah de blah sometimes it does get a little overwelming and i find myself sticking with the same products weeks on end just because...honestly? i cant be bothered to dig through it. This month so far and last i wore the same products pretty much everyday without fail. I had no craving to try out anything new and gladly walked past things in the shops. I've decided to only act on my urge to buy something new when theyres a product i really really really want. Not just when i think something will be 'okay'. I want makeup to remain special and fun. Afterall id rather have a small collection filled with things i adore than a huge one filled with crap! The m.a.c to thebeach summer collection looks lovely but i can pretty much dupe everything apart from the highlight powder. The seahorse embossing just makes it that much more irresistable.

Anyway my 'daily face' has pretty much consisted off...

Revlon photo finish or avon idea shade foundation. Both i would say have medium coverage and seem to work well with my skin. woohoo!

Stila illuminating tinted moisturizer for days when my skins okay and i dont need so much coverage. Its been a good month this month so that has been used well!

M.a.c studio finish concealer (in n20 if you're wondering!:))

Rochas loose powder as a setting powder.

E.l.f hd powder.

e.l.f golden bronzer all over. Just to add a bit of a glow! Be warned though a light hand does it!!

M.a.c style blush all over the cheek with a little stila dance on the apples.

Benefit hoola bronzer as a contour.

e.l.f brow gel and powder in medium.

m.a.c Vanilla eyeshadow as a highlight and a neautral lid with a little of macs juxt on the lower lashline and rimmel colour mousse eyeshadow in 005 as a base (be careful with these, some are very drying and almost crumbly whilst others apply very smoothly and last ages! i know its naughty but open the jar! have a little peak to make sure the consistancys all good!)or a couple of shades out of my nars night series palette if im going out.

m.a.c fluidline in waveline or elizabeth arden gel liner in black sand.

lancome hypnose mascara in black. Still my fav mascara

lancome colour fever shine in 337 during the day and mac hue in the evening teamed with barry m's 53 or 147, both really beautiful coral colours! Perfect for summer.

Random Beauty views and the end of a month long makeup BAN!!

My makeup ban is up!!! completed. Finished. Done. And you know something?..It wasn't as horrendous as i thought it would be!! I did find myself craving products from the new mac collections. I longed for the blush ombres that were released in the colour forecast collection and which now i know will be impossible to own but overall i did pretty well!

I did buy new foundations but i needed them! It wasn't really what i would call a cheat as i ran out....also my boots advantage card points came in handy for one or two lip products that i honed in on like the magpie i am whilst 'passing' through boots! The ban was to not spent any money on makeup, not points.Important distinction.

I'm hoping now that i will receive lots of goodies for my birthday to try out and play with. longing for the coastal scents metal mania palette!! This will keep me happy for days!! The 'hot pots' look pretty interesting also!!

I did sort out my makeup into ten stackable drawers from whsmith. My blush drawer is jam packed full of lovely pans full of colour but which to be honest is never going to get used up!! I just seem to collect these things like the sick, shallow individual i am. I'm aware this isn't normal but i love it and its my hobby. I have however decided to put my foot down and complete what i like to call 'project ten pan' ten products that i have to use up before i allow myself to purchase anymore makeup! (obviously this doesn't include gifts so feel free!!:)) good idea? lets see...

oh, but to celebrate my ban for the month i have accumulated 9 new chanel blushes.
Kind of defeats the objective huh? x

I finally try eyes, lips and face...and hate it.

So after months of debating whether or not to try the range of 'elf' cosmetics i finally buckled and decided to dabble in some of their most raved about items, I went for the studio bronzers. My collection is lacking in bronzers so i thought this would justify my purchases...

maybe?

Although they are affordable i still played it safe! How boring, and went for just two products. Anyhow here's my verdict!

I went for the warm and golden just because these are the two I've heard the most good things about. Now as you can see they each consist of four different shades. Great right? WRONG!!
For someone who gets a little brush happy i ended up picking far to much of one colour each time and ended up with different colour cheeks, nose, chin and forehead. I use bronzer to 'pull' all my makeup together so having it all different colours patched on my face was a no no. Obviously this problem is just me and my clumsy application so it didn't effect my opinion.

The fact that it was packed full of shimmer however did! I just found them both very cakey and shimmery. I've come to the conclusion that maybe a matte finish is best when it comes to bronzers. I've just swapped my foundation to avoid the disco ball look so do i really want to put a product all over my face that gives me this?

I hate to rule out an entire cosmetic company by having a poor opinion on just a few of their products. Maybe I'll try a couple of their mineral lipsticks before i completely dismiss the brand altogether. I've had my eye on Runway pink, Natural nymph and nicely nude for a while so maybe this could be the perfect excuse to get my mitts on them!! For research and review purposes only of course:) pah.

Until then i hate to say it but my opinion of elf so far is a bit blah!

Lips, cheeks and face bargain buys!:)

As you guys know I'm a bit of a slave to fake tan ( st moriz & xen-tan ) which are great!! Just one problem...Makeup. For foundations i just mix a few different ones on the back of my hand to find the perfect match for my colour at that time. However I've always had to pay out for single concealers which is just really irritating considering i can range from an nw20 - nw35 in m.a.c and ivory to bronze in drugstores such as boots and superdrug which as you can imagine can be a little pricey!

Hitting pan! help!!

Today was a sad sad day for me... I've hit pan on one of my favourite everyday eye shadows.

Not only have i hit pan but its one of the beautiful shades and what appears to be a rare shade that came in my 28 neutrals palette.
I'm sure you can work out which one it is!:)

I say rare because despite it being what you would think would be an easy shade to find absolutely anywhere it turns out that its not. I'm thinking of taking the palette out with me and trawling up and down the isles of boots and superdrug before i find something that is similar enough to satisfy me...but to make life a little easier i thought id ask for suggestions on here first. I know macs bare study paint pot is quite similar but i would prefer a powder formulation.
