However I've found something that makes this concealer struggle much much easier. A gorgeous 15 pan concealer palette!! Now i couldn't tell you what brand this is...It doesn't state it on the palette itself and I'm so forgetful however i can tell you that its not more than £10 including postage (ebay!) The palette consists of 12 different shades of concealer, 3 corrector shades and 1 highlight.
They do mask dark red tones in your skin and dark circles amazingly well though..hence why i've already hit pan on the yellow corrector shade. Yes i've been blessed with that ' tired and worn ' under eye look.
If you do want more coverage from a concealer then I've found something that in my opinion is Just as good as any m.a.c concealer ( nw 35 right of the picture )
Barbara daly for believe it or not..Tesco's!!
(Left of the picture)
Now i put these two side by side just to show both ends of my skin range scale. The barbara daly concealer is the same shade as nw20 ( It looks lighter in the picture!!)
No more m.a.c for me!!
I've always loved the Avon lip products and this is no exception. I know avon came out with these Arabian glow lip balms ages ago but i've only just discovered them so for me this is very exciting. Especially as this seems to be one of the few lip balms that i feel actually do something. Many lip balms just feel nice when applied and doesn't seem to last long. Yes this doesn't last long either but it leaves my lips feeling soft and refreshed almost. Perfect base for lipstick. This is the only one i own and is in the shade coral sands but i'm sure il have a few of the shades before long :)
As you can see from the pictures its a pinky nude which i seem to love lately and apparently by owning that old old lipstick always have. I'm not usually the biggest fan of the nude lip but add a hint of pink and i'm sold! It looks much sheerer swatched on my hand but on the lips themselves looks far more pigmented and seems to 'work' better. If i had just seen a swatch of this lipstick on someones hand i would have probably passed on it as to me it doesn't look that impressive. On the lips however.....
So last but not least lets talk blush..
Its not a product i've just discovered but rediscovered so maybe this is a little misleading? I used to use Rimmel lipsticks all the time but they've just been, well...forgotten i suppose since discovering Barry m's lip paints, gosh velvet touch lipsticks and elf mineral lipsticks!! However i was hunting through my kit and found an old Rimmel volume booster lipstick in number 102 shade foxy. As the name suggest its a plumping lipstick...which to be honest doesn't really give me that enhanced Lesley Ash look that we all seem to crave ( Just kidding ) My lips are quite full as it is so i don't mind this. Also what it lacks in 'boost' it makes up in everything else. I decided it would be best to throw the old one out and go and buy a new one as i really didn't know how long it had been sitting in my kit. Only thing was i couldn't find this range ANYWHERE!! I'm guessing they must have stopped production of this particular product and had to resort to ebay.
So last but not least lets talk blush..
Over the last couple of weeks i've been using a gorgeous blush from marks and Spencer's called 'Dusky rose' ( i mentioned it in my 'The good, the not so good and the bad' post) Pretty much a cheap dupe of benefits 'thrrrob' which is one of my 'go to' blushes and one i reach for on a regular basis. The one on the left is 'dusky rose' and the swatch on the right is 'thrrrob' For some reason dusky rose looks much darker in the picture however in real life and when applied they are pretty much identical.
I'm also really pleased with the pigmentation of 'Dusky rose' Honestly its not as pigmented as 'thrrrob' but its not horrible to wear either. It apply's flawlessly and doesn't look cakey or uneven as i feared it might. All for a smidgen of the price of 'thrrrob' It only retails for £2.50 so if like me you are being forced to count the pennies but still want to fake that 'flushed' look then this definitely is the product for you :)
